Karin and Rod’s family home was looking tired. All of the children had grown up here and were now teenagers. They wanted to breath new life into the home, ready for the next chapter of their own lives. Our job:
– Complete external repaint
Home renovation requirements:
The colours were to remain largely the same, but we would increase the sheen level from low-sheen to semi-gloss. This is something we often recommend to our clients as it adds to longevity and ease of clearning.
Only one colour was changed. The clear timber was looking a bit out of date, so we agreed to change to a Woodland Grey. This really modernised the look.
Making sure the job’s done right:
As usual we carried out a site pre-start visit with one of our team leaders and reviewed a full checklist to ensure that the job will be done correctly.
What we learned:
All went to plan except for one adhesion test. The Woodland Grey adhesion test over the clear timber failed, this meant we would need to apply an undercoat first, we used an oil based undercoat for this.
